Public Service Announcement
It has been brought to my attention that my Spain blog may come across as though I did not enjoy myself there. I would just like to say, for the record and to avoid any unnecessary misunderstandings, that I had a great week away.
Spain was beautiful and breathtaking. There were some absolutely stunning and awe inspiring things I did and saw there, and it was a trip I will always remember. The landscape, the architecture, the art - all phenomenal! Madrid is a busy bustling city that obviously has it together with an incredible and affordable transit system , and I absolutely love the fact that the Spanish, even in a huge city, take afternoon siestas. That is the life! The patios, the plazas, the cafes.....amazing!
I think that really I am a small town girl in a big city, and I miss the friendliness and welcoming nature of that. I have never really been a true tourist, and instead would love to just hang out and talk to the locals instead of sight seeing. So, Spain? Fabulous! Me as a tourist? Not so much.
